Geography

Ocean Springs is in southeastern Mississippi across from Biloxi, approximately 2 miles east of Biloxi and west of Gautier. Ocean Springs is 8 minutes from Biloxi, 3 hours from Jackson, MS, and 5 hours from Tupelo, MS. Major highways include MS 609 and US 90.

Downtown Ocean Springs is a lively, fun area with all kinds of shopping and dining options. There are many events and festivals here, so there’s always something to do.
Gautier is nicknamed “Nature’s Playground” because of its outdoor recreation, bayous, and waterfront amenities. You can take advantage of the Coastal Mississippi waterways or visit the many golf courses in the area.
Pascagoula is well known for its antebellum architecture, a rich history and being the home to the largest employers in Mississippi including Huntington Ingalls Shipbuilding, Signal International, and Halter Marine. Climate

Ocean Springs has a subtropical climate. The city has a hot, humid season that begins in late spring and ends in early fall, with frequent afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Fall and spring is usually cool to warm. Winters are usually warm with cool spells. The best time to visit for the most ideal weather is from March to May.
